Job Description

The Role: Delivery Director (Telecoms Fibre Network Build)
Location: Oxfordshire
Package: to £125,000 & £30,000 bonus / £6,000 car allowance / stock options

Overview:

Would the challenge of playing a lead part in the delivery of some of the most cutting edge network build / FTTP programmes in the UK be something that catches your attention? If so, read on.

These programmes of work are going to shape how sections of the UK receive ultra-fast internet services and as such, we are looking to speak with a delivery director, who will sit at the top of the project group and report to the COO - you'll need to be a senior level leader and likely a known figure within the UK sector regarding the construction and delivery of a telecoms network.

Ideally, this will be a fibre network but happy to speak with directors from a utilities background with assumed knowledge of civils, network build and adherence to legislation within a large scale client and tier one partner delivery model.

NEC3 framework / contract experience is also going to be highly beneficial.

This is not a political, red tape style environment and you'll be given the chance to influence and use your experience to get things done.

The Responsibilities:

The Delivery Director will be based from the office in Oxfordshire but will be responsible for driving network build and delivery across the UK.

This is a new position, and reporting to the board, you'll be asked to shape and influence the in-house delivery function alongside managing contract partners. You'll also have senior level dealings with both local and central government on programmes worth hundreds of millions of pounds.

As Delivery Director, you can expect to be the face for the entire delivery programme and you'll be the conduit to the rest of the business, and right hand to the COO. You'll lead a team of project directors who in turn will lead project & delivery managers alongside all civils supervision.

You will be final point of escalation for all aspects of delivery, driving rollout success and meeting or exceeding time, cost and quality metrics for the in-house division and also for all of the contract partners.

The team will look for you to inspire and lead them, both personally and operationally.

The Delivery Director will be responsible for building, managing and developing the delivery team and will take ultimate responsibility for the management of resource planning, materials procurement; inventory management and communication, in relation to the successful delivery of projects, is consistent and accurate.

Some of the delivery function is in place, but you'll be responsible for building, managing and developing the delivery team as required alongside the 3rd party management of partners across a major project region. This delivery function includes civils, delivery and project management alongside teams responsible for resource planning, materials procurement; inventory management and communication

You'll be the face of the delivery programme and you'll take responsibility for delivery on time, budget and to required quality.

Who are you?

A known figure within the UK network build industry, with the reputation and gravitas needed to deliver new build and deployment projects on this scale.

Your background will be director level management in either telecoms fibre network build, utilities or civils and you`ll be able to point to a track record of success within a NRSWA regulated environment.

This is essential, so a proven track record in the construction of a network is a must. It is also a highly client facing role, and experience of working on or around BDUK projects would be a significant advantage.

Credibility, charisma, confidence and the ability to influence will be paramount to success in this role This is a ultra-fast moving, high pressure delivery environment. It is fluid and fairly unstructured and you'll need to plan and execute strategy whilst keeping the passion and enthusiasm that make this company a great place to work.
