Job Description

Job Title: Data Analyst (MySQL)
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £35k - £37500k

The Opportunity
Love data? Have a background in MySQL, management information, BI, data modelling, data science or technical business analysis? Want the opportunity to build a reporting function from the ground up?

We're a dynamic, ambitious software company that's already making waves across our industry but to take us to the next level we need a data analyst to support our customers and the marketing manager with a strong analysis, modelling, and interpretation background to generate the data needed for forecasting and analysis both in house, and with the external clients.

The Role
As our new Data Analyst you'll be given the opportunity to develop the existing system supply and reporting model.

This is a brand new role and is a technical position. You`ll own the full range of activities linked to the MySQL database such as Campaign Delivery, MI and Strategic Analysis so this role is going to combine the skills of an MI analyst, a business analyst and a data analyst so you`ll own the design, implementation and maintenance of the MI reports, models and the database using MySQL and Excel.

The data analyst role will work with the wider business, including the IT department and the marketing manager to translate customer data into meaningful MI, actionable insights and ultimately marketing activities.

Ongoing, you`ll seek continual improvement in the quality of data and to make recommendations on appropriate customer data enhancements to improve the quality of insight and marketing campaign performance available. You`ll then turn those recommendations into reality.

The Candidate
It`s a varied role so we are open minded. You`ll be used to providing data / analysis and reporting within a MySQL environment and be an expert with MS Excel and will look forward to the challenge of making this role your own, within a fast moving, rapid growth software company.

Frankly, we're going to be relying heavily on your previous knowledge so you need to be able to bring that to that table.

A relevant degree would be good, so mathematics, physics, economics, computer science, business/finance etc. but we are happy to trade the qualification off against relevant commercial experience.

The Company
We're an industry-leading software solutions organisation who have the lion's share of our particular market. We like to think we're good at what we do however now we want to know more so you`ll extract and manipulate customer data using MySQL and excel to understand market and customer trends.

Previously our senior management team have taken responsibility for the majority of this role, however we're now looking for an expert to own this function and further give us the information needed to support the ongoing global evolution of our products
