IT Helpdesk Officer
Location: Wakefield
Package: £12-13 per hour, Full-time
Length: 2 month contract with the possibility of being extended

The Role:

To provide excellent IT support to staff and volunteers working within the company. Provide support to the IT team to maintain and develop an efficient and robust IT system and infrastructure to the organisation.

Responsibilities:

*To provide technical support to colleagues on all IT systems and software applications in person, via telephone, email or remote access.
*Diagnose and repair faults in PCs, Laptops, networks and other hardware.
*Visit regional offices to provide on-site support and ensure equipment is being used appropriately in accordance with the organisations policies and procedures.
*To document reported problems, follow up and escalate support tasks appropriately.
*To work with other IT staff to maintain systems and to ensure system documentation is complete and up to date.
*carry out routine maintenance, including system and data backups.
*Participate and contribute fully to organisational meetings and conferences.
*Support the work of the company by carrying out any other IT and administrative related tasks as required.

The Candidate:

*General technical background, including proficiency in hardware, applications, word processors, graphics program and spreadsheets.
*A functional knowledge of Windows operating systems is essential along with practical experience of servers.
*Ability to identify issues and work to resolutions methodically and quickly.
*Ability to research solutions to difficult technical problems.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Ability to work well in a team and individually.
*Flexibility, being prepared to take on a variety of IT and admin roles according to the needs and priorities of the organization.
