Senior IT Support Technician

Opportunity:
This is a great opportunity for a Senior 2nd/3rd Line Support Technician, with in depth knowledge of Microsoft O/S and infrastructure, along with Cisco based networking skills to join an expanding, technically savvy company in Warrington. In order to help deal with the majority of escalated 2nd/3rd line technical issues.

The Role
The Senior IT Support Technician will be responsible for support and maintenance of the virtualised systems, specifically Microsoft Hyper-V within an iSCSI Clustered environment to facilitate highly available Servers to the business. These critical systems are the responsibility of the Senior IT analyst to support maintain and improve.

Day to day responsibilities;
* Support the Messaging systems, specifically Microsoft Exchange and these systems are required to be supported and managed.
* Support and Control the Active Directory infrastructure
Configure, Manage and Maintain a Windows 2008 Active Directory infrastructure.
* Be responsible for maintaining and updating the SQL servers.
* Ensure a fully secured and protected network: Install, configure & maintain Firewalls, routers, VLANs switches to give the highest level of operational security possible. Also ensure all NTFS, ACL sharing permissions are documented and configured correctly. To be responsible for all aspects of IT\PSU security.
* Ensure the Local Area network is implemented and supported efficiently and effectively.
* Devise optimal configurations for IT hardware and software. Ensuring that the IT support team delivers a high-quality service to its clients, the network users.
* Support Junior IT Support Analysts in Technical issues.
* Assisting Junior I.T Support Analysts with problems they have insufficient knowledge to resolve, ensuring they gain the knowledge to solve such problems, and imparting general knowledge to them on the systems used.
* Flexibility to assist and deal with out of hours problems, no formal on call but an assumption that the support department makes itself available to overcome critical technical faults that impact the business.

Technical skills:
* Microsoft Server Operating Systems
* Microsoft Active Directory, DNS
* Microsoft Hyper-V
* Microsoft Exchange
* Cisco Firewalls and Switches
* Strong Networking Skills TCP/IP
Any technical accreditation from Microsoft or Cisco would be viewed as a bonus.
