The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a 1st Line Service Desk Engineer to join a dynamic global IT department. Based in York with travel to other UK sites as necessary. The role requires a self-motivated and loyal individual who will be expected to directly contribute to service excellence at all times.

Knowledge and Understanding of the following Technical Skills would be desirable:
Windows 7/8 workstation support
Active Directory administration
Service desk support experience
Keen focus on attention to detail, and good written/verbal communication skills.

The Candidate
The ideal 1st Line Service Desk Engineer will have

*Forward thinking, open minded team player
*Understanding of ITIL/Lean IT principles.
*Problem-solving and analytical skills.
*To handle incoming technical support incidents, requests and changes; ensuring calls are closed in a timely fashion.
*To be able work as part of a team and contribute positively with team members.
*Work with all Global IT teams (3rd Line, ERP and Infrastructure, as well as 3rd party software support)
*Excellent customer service skills.

The Package
The 1st Line Service Desk Engineer role is paying up to £20k depending on experience. 39 hours per week, 8-5, Friday 8-4pm
