Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager for our client, a major telecoms company based in Hook.

The role does not have to be in Hook 5 days each week, but preference will be given to candidates living within commuting distance due to the need to be in senior level stakeholder meetings on a weekly basis.

The ideal candidate will be a Senior figure who has led / had involvement in projects surrounding GIS as our client are undertaking a huge project to map their networks and inventories. I would be interested in hearing people from relevant backgrounds such as Telecoms, Utilities or Railways.

Salary will be 65k-75k depending on experience.

Principle Responsibilities

*To provide project leadership, direction and control to internal and external suppliers and stakeholders in a project delivery context for multiple simultaneous or complex projects. This role reports to board level, so a large amount of gravitas is required to make a success of this position.
*Achieve high levels of Customer Satisfaction, by ensuring full technical, financial and business benefits are achieved in all aspects of the solution delivery.
*To establish and maintain key supplier interfaces and relationships, both within client and with any required external suppliers.
*Manage project teams across a number of Senior Stakeholders MD's and Senior Executives spanning divisions and support functions (i.e. HR, Finance) delivering multiple functional changes impacting the organisation.
*Manage project team resources in excess of 50 staff (internal/external) spanning a number of divisions within the organisation (4+ sources including 3rd parties).
*Manage project teams across a number of Senior Stakeholders MD's and Senior Executives spanning divisions and support functions (i.e. HR, Finance) delivering multiple functional changes impacting the organisation.
*Project reporting and updates to director and above - may be required to run and govern the project ESG.
*Deliver where there is limited or unknown business capability available of the key deliverables.
*Clear & Concise communications at all levels the organisation. Communicate complex issues in simple report format.
*Determines, procure and manage appropriate resources internally and externally to deliver the projects
*Implement and maintain a consistent project management methodology ensuring project conforms to Change team governance including all project documentation
*Manage and is accountable for all aspects of cross project risk, issues and contingency
*Identify, track and manage intra & inter programme/portfolio dependencies with other business initiatives and key projects proactively
*Manage steering group activities for project escalation

Required Experience

*Experience of managing projects/programmes involved with GIS or inventory systems in sectors such as Telecoms, Utilities or Railways.
*Advanced knowledge of
o portfolio/project planning processes and techniques and methodology.
o risk trade off options and their impact.
o corporate, industry and professional standards in the programme/project.
*Advanced experience of portfolio/project management in a multi-disciplined and commercial environment.
*Advanced stakeholder management, negotiation and conflict management skills
*Ability to understand complex organisational designs and structures and understands how to relate these to the portfolio being managed.
*Advanced ability to manage uncertainty and understand the impact of this on portfolio/ project.
*Advanced leadership qualities and people management. Coaching and mentoring of team.
*Understanding of business drivers and complex organisational designs and structures relating to management of programme.
*Will have PRINCE 2, APMP or MSP or other recognised industry qualification.
