Job Description

Experienced telecoms voice and data project manager required for this national telecommunications company, based in Peterborough.

This is a 9 month fixed term contract and it is anticipated the project will offer a good chance of longer term work at the end of the period. The position is on a PAYE basis and would include a bonus linked to KPI`s along with private healthcare, holiday pay and flexible employee benefit package.

As an overview, you should be an experienced telecoms project manager with prior experience of project delivery for the likes of data circuits and ethernet based projects. The PM will mainly be working on a large project responsible for the migration of technology between service providers due to the end of a supplier contract period.

On that basis, any experience of project delivery of telecoms voice and data services, especially during a period of migration would be viewed as an advantage.

Required Experience

· Experience of telecoms network migration / implementation in a multi-disciplined and commercial environment
· Knowledge and demonstrable experience of project planning processes, techniques and methodologies
Virtual or matrix team management
· Stakeholder management, negotiation and conflict management skills
· Ability to manage uncertainty and understand the impact of this on the project; proactive and forward-looking
· Understanding of business drivers and complex organisational designs
· Ideally has PRINCE 2 or other recognised industry qualification

· Strong Knowledge of IPVPN and Layer 3 networking
· Ability to manage virtual teams and gain the best from each team member.

Full driving license is required.

The client company use a project methodology that is loosely based around Prince 2 but we are not insisting on any formal training in this area although it is assumed that you have substantial experience of delivering telecoms voice and data infrastructure projects to business customers, and therefore would be able to adapt your own methodology to suit the particular project requirement.

Experience of working in a project management role for one of the telecoms carriers would be viewed as an advantage.
