Trainee Graduate Recruitment Consultant (Technical) - Liverpool City Centre

*1st Year realistic OTE £30K
*2nd Year OTE £40k

Who we are

We were founded in 1996 in the flat of our Managing Director who had the vision of creating recruitment consultancy that "Focuses on people". We have grown steadily and now operate at the heart of the Liverpool Business District. Our head office is based within Exchange Flags, and we also have another office in London.

You see, we have a thing for anything IT / Engineering / Telecoms related here. We like to think of this as our speciality, meaning clients get real value when they work with us. We work with some of the UK's biggest companies including Virgin Media and Procter & Gamble and advise them on recruitment strategy.

The plan is to add to our already successful team of consultants, were ambitious and we want to get to £5million turnover by 2018. But there's a caveat to this, we don't just want any old fool joining, you've probably heard some horror stories at other agencies. We get it! But take Stephen Morris as an example. Stephen joined Bluefire as a fresh faced graduate in 2011, he quickly progressed up the ranks to achieve Senior Technical Recruitment Consultant status by 2014. He now earns £60k a year, receives 30 days holiday and qualifies for a company car allowance. Oh and he was bought a Tag watch for billing over £150k last year.

Why am I telling you this? It shows what can be done with commitment and hard work in recruitment. We prefer to take a long term view, this sets us apart from the competition. We want people to have a career in recruitment with us, not just a stop gap.

What we're looking for!

We want people that come alive in a sales driven environment, we want you to use your business acumen to spot opportunities.

You will have to work bloody hard to get ahead in this game. Early mornings, late nights. An average week will see you work 42.5 hours as a minimum.

You must be able to speak confidently and clearly over phone, this is important as it will be the first point of contact with new and existing clients.

We need you to be ridiculously organised, almost borderline OCD. Your day will be hectic so you must prioritise tasks that have the greatest ROI.

You have to be as resilient as the Liverpool team were in Istanbul in 2005 or the Manchester United team were in Barcelona in 1999 (Greg nagged me to put this in unfortunately!).

You will get knockbacks but we need graduates to dust themselves down and go again each and every day.

What will my day look like?

Don't worry were not going to throw a phonebook at you and expect you to get cold calling. As a recruitment consultant each day will be different, which is great because you'll never be bored like other graduate roles. You will be in charge of the full cycle of the recruitment process.

It could include the following:

*Searching for suitable candidates to fill roles in order to fulfil our client's needs
*Building up client relationships through Business Development
*Conducting interviews over Skype
*Visiting clients in order to deliver our award winning services
*Handling counter offers with candidates
*Negotiating with clients during the tender process

Development

You will be given every chance to succeed at Bluefire through a proper Graduate Training programme and weekly reviews with our Head of Development Neil Hindocha.

This consists of:

*Initial Admin Training (0-4 Months)
*Resourcer (4-6 months)
*Promotion to Consultant (The quickest this has been done is 7months)

Culture

The team at Bluefire are a bit mad and we do things a bit differently around here, that's why we have an ET costume in the cupboard and beer in the boardroom! Were all quite sporty and enjoy exerting ourselves through some form of pain. We have Chris Jones who is a keen rugby player, representing Mossily Hill and Neil C who loves to cycle to work, but we all think he loves the lyrcra more. This year we all took part in Survival of the Fittest to raise money for the Dogs Trust. This consisted of us plunging into ice cold canals, crawling through kilometres of mud, swimming through storm drains and genuinely suffering in aid of the pups. At Bluefire we win together and lose together, were a close knit team and the majority of our consultants have been here for over five years.

The Package

£18K basic starting salary, regular salary reviews (your basics goes up quickly most grads finish the first year on £22Kbasic), + great commission, + bonus, + profit share with the potential to earn a realistic £30K in the first year as a consultant, increasing to £35K+ once you have completed your training. Top earners earn over £100K. You will be provided with the essential kit to do your work (iPhone 6s, laptop, expense account, IPads). 20 days holiday + All Bank Holidays + Your birthday off +Work anniversary meal.
